The Jefferson Performing Arts Society (JPAS) will hold auditions for its 2012-2013 35th Anniversary Season Friday and Saturday, June 29-30, 2012 at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center (EJ High School Auditorium), 400 Phlox Street in Metairie. JPAS seeks singers and actors ages 17 and up of all ethnicities for their 2012-2013 season productions. AUDITIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Auditioners are required submit an audition form, a current headshot and resume PRIOR to their audition via email to secure an audition spot. If you are interested in a particular role, please prepare a 32 bar cut of a song that character sings and prepare a second contrasting Musical Theatre song of your choice - select sheet music for principle roles will be available for download at the JPAS website beginning Wednesday, June 13. If auditioning for a particular role, you may be asked to sing additional music for that character. You must bring sheet music for your chosen song in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. All auditioners are asked to be available on Sunday, July 1 starting at 2pm for possible callbacks. ALL ROLES ARE COMPENSATED! JPAS seeks actors/singers/dancers for: DRIVING MISS DAISY, THE FULL MONTY, FROST/NIXON*, AVENUE Q, THE COLOR PURPLE (specifically seeking African-American performers), BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY on stage at venues throughout Louisiana and Mississippi September 2012-May 2013.

*NOTE: FROST/NIXON AUDITIONS Will be held in the evenings June 27 & 28. If you indicate an interest in this production, JPAS will contact you with specific details on audition process and needs.

Theatre Kids! Auditions will be held at a later date closer to the productions!

Due to the needs of our season, we will not be holding open auditions for those under the age of 17.

JPAS is also accepting applications and volunteers for technical positions in scenic, costuming, sound, lighting and stage managers for the 35th Season. To Schedule an Audition:

1. Go to download the audition form located under the download menu to the right and select sheet music. COMPLETE THE ENTIRE AUDITION FORM and EMAIL THE FORM, YOUR CURRENT HEADSHOT AND RESUME TO This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (*PLEASE NOTE: “audition” IS SINGULAR IN THE EMAIL ADDRESS!) by WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27, 2012 AT 5PM. You will need to indicate your desired audition block or JPAS will assign one.

• • SAVE A COPY OF THE AUDITION FORM .PDF TO YOUR COMPUTER. If the pdf opens in a web browser, you must FIRST SAVE A COPY TO YOUR COMPUTER!
  • Please open the saved copy of the audition form in Adobe Reader to type direclty into the audition form fields. Download Adobe Reader Free.
  • When you have completed all fields, click 'SIGN' at the top of the Adobe Reader window. "I need to sign" menu will appear to the right of the document. Select "Done Signing." SAVE the form with your info as YOUR NAME - AUDITION_FORM.

1. Once ALL INFO is submitted via email, you will receive a reply email to confirm your audition slot by Thursday, June 28 at 5PM.
2. Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your audition time to check-in. JPAS will have all your info on hand - you do not need to bring additional copies of headshot and resume to your audition.

INCOMPLETE AUDITION FORMS INCLUDING CURRENT HEADSHOT AND RESUME WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.
