Explore Arts with JPAS! The Jefferson Performing Arts Society’s Arts Adventure Series presents kid-friendly main stage productions to school groups at discounted rates during the weekday. Students enjoy an early weekday matinee and experience the arts in action!

Jefferson Performing Arts Society provides FREE Coordinating lesson plans and study guides are available for all Arts Adventure Series performances. See the downloads section (on the right) to get study guides.
Admission is only $5 for students depending on venue. One teacher/chaperone is admitted FREE for every 10 paid students!
Productions are timed so your class is sure to be out in time for lunch!

	JPAS Theatre Kids! Present Disney’s ALADDIN, JR Music by Alan Menken Lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice Book Adapted and Additional Lyrics by Jim Luigs Music Adapted and Arranged by Bryan Louiselle Based on the 1992 Disney film Aladdin Starring an all-kid cast! Welcome to Agrabah, City of Enchantment, where every beggar has a story and every camel has a tail! All of your favorite characters are here in Disney's ALADDIN JR., a stage adaptation of the Disney hit film. Filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides, audiences' spirits will soar with excitement. Most of all, the tuneful, Academy award-winning score with songs including "A Whole New World" and "Friend Like Me" will certainly make this musical a favorite for many years to come! 	A CHRISTMAS CAROL Based on the novel by Charles Dickens The holiday classic returns the the JPAS stage especially for student groups! Old miser, Ebenezer Scrooge thinks Christmas is nothing but a bah-humbug! Join Scrooge on that fateful Christmas Eve, as the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future show him the true meaning of the Christmas spirit. 	SLIM GOODBODY: LIGHTEN UP! TOUR SLIM GOODBODY is back and better than ever in his new show LIGHTEN UP! It is a highly interactive, 50-minute musical show designed to help children, in grades K-6, learn the value of exercise and good nutrition. The show deals with the serious problems of excess weight and obesity in an entertaining and totally non-threatening way. Children are encouraged to develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors needed to make health-enhancing choices. In every musical number, the kids participate, by answering questions, volunteering, and moving along with Slim. BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY Written By Alan James On February 3rd, 1959, the man who changed the face of popular music tragically died in a plane crash aged 22. Now, BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY tells the story of the three years in which he became the world’s top recording artist with a show that features over 20 of Buddy Holly’s greatest hits including “Peggy Sue”, “That’ll Be The Day”, “Oh Boy”, “Not Fade Away”, “Everyday”, “Rave On”, “Maybe Baby”, “Raining In My Heart”, Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba”, and the Big Bopper’s “Chantilly Lace”. 	artist inc. presents“the collective” in LES GITANS LES GITANS is a physical theater and dance production performed to live music, appropriate for children of all ages, even Grandpa! A modern day fairy tale about immigration, segregation and integration. Mother Mistral, a natural disaster, is sweeping through the universe, destroying everything in her path. Les Gitans are scrappy scavengers whose connection to technology and invention has enabled them to survive as nomads after their homeland is demolished. They travel far and wide in search of the Shanoa Nation, a people deeply connected to nature living in a rich and fertile region - the only place untouched by Mother Mistral. Les Gitans and the Shanoa Nation are as different as black and white and their meeting sparks uproar and feuding. Mother Mistral however is rolling near, and Shanoa Nation will be the last hit. Will Les Gitans and the Shanoa Nation all be abolished forever or will they set aside their pride, learn to work and live together in harmony to save humanity? Music by Jerry Bock Book by Joseph Stein Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick Based on Sholem Aleichem's stories by special permission of Arnold Perl Starring an all-kid cast! In the little village of Anatevka, Tevye, a poor dairyman, tries to instill in his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit Jewish community in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia.
