Celebrate our 47th Season and Help Us Build Towards our 50th Anniversary Season!
This season we are asking donors to give a minimum donation of $47 in honor of our 47th season.
Anyone who donates $47 or more is considered a Friend of JPA and will be listed on a Friends of JPA page on our website and in our final season show program.
If you donate $500 or more, you will be invited to our annual Season Preview VIP Reception.
Thank you for supporting live local theatre!
The creation of live, local theater. We build all of our productions “from the ground up”. Your support helps us continue to create quality productions that include locally designed and built sets, and the artists who we hire to create the live music, costumes, choreography, hair and makeup, props, and all the pieces of each JPA production.
The expansion of our youth programs. We now hold four summer camps: Three Youth Musical Theatre Intensives and one Theatre Workshop. We also produce two JPA Theatre Kids! Shows each season (one in fall and one in the spring). However, we want to make these programs more accessible to all families, by creating more after school, school break, and summer opportunities for children with different skill levels and interests. Your donation not only supports the staff required to create and facilitate and teach, but will assist with funding scholarships for students who would otherwise not be able to afford to attend.
The expansion of our outreach programs. For 2-4 mainstage JPA shows per season, we host our Chrysalis Program, an evening of complimentary theatre for special needs adults and seniors. These are held during our dress rehearsals and enable community members with special needs and/or the elderly to experience a less crowded environment and more relaxing atmosphere compared to public presentations. We would like to offer more of these, and also create a matinee series for special needs adults and youth, but this requires additional funding to pay actors and the entire artistic team for an additional public performance.
The expansion of our student matinees. We now offer up to 3 shows per season as part of our Arts Adventure Series, which is a discounted daytime matinee for students and teachers. These productions require us to add days to our contracts for our actors, musicians, and contracted artistic staff. Tickets are just $10 per student and teacher, with one free chaperone per 10 students. We would like to offer more of these and create additional discounted rates for more of our shows so that local students throughout the region can experience live performances. For many students attending our Arts Adventure Series, this is their first theatre experience and their first time at Jefferson Performing Arts Center.
