JPAS provides affordable arts experiences each season to approximately 12,000 children in surrounding parishes through our Arts Adventure Series (deeply discounted student matinees at $10 per ticket). We also offer JPAS Theatre Kids summer camps at both our East Bank and West Bank locations, where students learn about all aspects of staging a show from local theatre professionals, then present the show onstage for one to three public performances. While there are camp fees to participate, some students receive full or partial scholarships.
We open our dress rehearsals to approximately 1,000 special needs and indigent senior community members each season through our Chrysalis programs. We offer complimentary tickets for local special needs community members to experience the preview night of our mainstage shows, giving this special population the opportunity to enjoy a night of theater with less crowds and more comfort.
