This controversial and popular 1971 Broadway musical infused with rock, gospel, folk, and funk as well as modern colloquialisms is set against the events told in the Gospels as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. The show follows the last week of Jesus Christ's life leading up to his betrayal by Judas and his crucifixion by the Romans. Combining ancient political history and modern sensibilities, this work explores timeless themes of fame, revolution, radicalism, and humility.

Thrilled to be making his JPAS debut, Bogdan Mynka hails from Kharkiv, Ukraine. Upon completing his Master’s in Vocal Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he promptly packed his typewriter, guitar, and bicycle on a train bound to New Orleans where he’s been performing, writing, and directing ever since. At the University of Illinois he starred as Henrik in Lyric Theatre Illinois’ production of A little night music, and as Jason in Adam Gwon’s Ordinary Days.
In New Orleans he recently performed the role of Sergeant in the New Orleans Opera Association’s production of Barber of Seville, and starred in several self-directed productions at the Marigny Opera House. When he’s not on stage, he’s chiseling away at his book on life as a missionary child in Eastern Europe—Collide-o-scope. He would like to dedicate this performance to his mother, brother, and best friend across the seas.
Jesus Christ
Rachel is overjoyed to return to the JPAS stage after a brief hiatus from musical theater to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Before Rachel began singing for her patients, some of her most treasured moments were spent as a Victory Belle at The National WWII Museum. Favorite performances include The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), Miss Saigon (Ellen), The Marvelous Wonderettes (Cindy Lou), Crazy For You (Polly), and The Will Roger’s Follies (Betty Blake). Vocally trained by Dreux Montegut, Rachel received her BA in Vocal Music Education from Loyola University New Orleans. Thank you to Dennis and Kenny for welcoming her home with open arms, as well as her husband for always insisting that she belong onstage.
Mary Magdalene
Nathan Parrish has lived in Louisiana for most of his life and received his Bachelors degree in music performance from Southeastern Louisiana University. Nathan has been involved with many community theaters on the Northshore as both an actor and music director. His most recent role being Charlie in “Kinky Boots: The Musical”
at Cutting Edge Theater. He has most recently music directed “Next to Normal” at slidell little theater. Nathan is also a composer and has written for many of Southeastern’s dance programs. He is super excited to make his debut as JPAS in one of his favorite musicals.

Michael Moore is so excited to be returning to his hometown for Jesus Christ Superstar. Michael received his B.F.A. in Music Theater from Elon University in 2013. Since graduating, Michael has worked at theaters all over the USA and beyond. After playing "Woof" in the European tour of Hair in 2016, Michael moved to Germany and has enjoyed exploring his career on the other side of the Atlantic. Favorite credits include: "Emmett", Legally Blonde (CPCC), "Dean Hyde", All Shook Up (Theater West Virginia), "Scarecrow" Wizard of Oz, (SToNC), "Monty" Saturday Night Fever (European Tour), “Roger” Grease! (Amstetten Sommer Theater), "Judas", Jesus Christ Superstar (Musical Company Austria) , “Cover King John/Will Scarlett” Robin Hood (Spotlight Musicals), Oh What a Night! (Bar Jeder Vernunft). He played "Ledoux" in the German premier of Bat Out of Hell from 2018-2019. Currently Michael is swinging around the jungle in Disney’s Tarzan in Stuttgart, where is “swing/cover Terk”. So much love to his family, his hometown, and of course, his beautiful wife, Nadine.
Jesus Christ
Jake Wynne-Wilson is excited to be returning to the JPAS stage after his run as The Prince in 2022's Cinderella (albeit in a slightly different type of role than that of Prince Charming). He was last seen as the titular character in The Bodyguard: The Musical at the Anthony Bean Theatre. Previous roles include the Reverend Shannon in The Night of the Iguana(TWTC) and the Emcee in Cabaret(Rivertown); though his favorite role to date is one he originated in Terminator: The Musical, a performance that garnered him a Big Easy Award nomination. He also performs regularly with the Tulane Shakespeare Festival in the improvised By Any Scenes Necessary, as well as with his musical improv troupe at the comedy theatre Big Couch in the Bywater. Love and gratitude to his family, friends, girlfriend, agent, and his doggo Tobey. Stage: God of Carnage, Rocky Horror Show, Suddenly Last Summer. Judas Iscariot
Nadine Kühn has been performing professionally since the age of 15. She was quickly working at major theaters ("Christmas Carol", Metronom Theater) and touring throughout Germany. Favorite roles include "Audrey", Little Shop of Horrors (German Tour), "Belle", Beauty and the Beast (Grossstadt Entertainment), "Jeanie", Hair (European Tour), "Annette", Saturday Night Fever (European Tour), "Marty/Cover Sandy" Grease (German Tour), “Wednesday” Addams Family (German Tour). She was recently in the original cast of Robin Hood the Musical with music by Chris de Burgh (“Ensemble / Cover Marian"), which is still running successfully around the country. Currently, Nadine can be seen on stage in the smash-hit Himmel und Kölle, which is running this year in Cologne (Volksbühne am Rudolfplatz). This summer she will travel to Bad Gandersheim to portray Blanche Barrow in the musical Bonnie and Clyde. Nadine is so excited to be joining the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar in her North American debut (and what’s more, alongside her husband)!
Mary Magdalene
A native of Hawaii, singing performer Torlef A. Borsting has enjoyed many stages of a varied career. Based now in central Florida, he has worked with opera companies, musical theater companies, and is a founding member of the Pinnacle Singers a 5 person ensemble being engaged all over the region. While a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, Torlef worked with San Francisco Opera, Opera San Jose, Sacramento Opera, Opera Parallele, Berkeley Opera, and Livermore Valley Opera. His many roles include Scarpia, Germont, Marcello, Sharpless, Horace Tabor, Belcore, Jack Rance, Prince Yeletsky along with many new roles created in modern operas and productions. An active concert performer as well, Torlef worked with Mendocino Music Festival, Pacific Chamber Symphony, Oakland Symphony and chorus, Symphony Parnassus, Cantare con Vivo, and most recently Orlando Sings. Now that Torlef makes his home in central Florida, he has made his debut with Opera Orlando, New York City Opera, Indianapolis Opera, First Coast Opera, and the Savannah VOICE Festival. His newest chapter includes a debut with Citrus Alliance for the Arts in Amazing Grace the Musical and an upcoming debut with JPAS (Jefferson Performing Arts Society) in Metairie, Louisiana as Pontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar.
Pontius Pilate
Metropolitan Opera bass-baritone George Cordes (Caiaphas) has performed more than 90 opera, operetta, and musical-theatre roles throughout North America and in Japan. As principal artist with New York City Opera for six seasons, he was featured in consecutive PBS Live from Lincoln Center telecasts in Tosca and La Boheme. His many NYCO appearances also included the Villains in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Timur in Turandot, and the title role in Le Nozze di Figaro. His “plush-toned” Figaro (Opera News) also delighted audiences in St. Louis, Columbus, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Besides singing with the Met for four seasons, Mr. Cordes appeared with Chicago Lyric Opera and Houston Grand Opera, as well as the companies of Dallas, Santa Fe, Kansas City, Boston, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Syracuse, Grand Rapids, and Tokyo. In 2015, he toured Vermont in a production of Erik Neilsen's opera A Fleeting Animal; he also appeared that year as Sparafucile in Rigoletto with the Jefferson Performing Arts Society and, the following year, in Ulysses: An American Mythology with Opera Louisiane in Baton Rouge. In 2019, Mr. Cordes returned to JPAS for the roles of Emile de Becque in South Pacific and Daddy Warbucks in Annie. Among his other musical-theatre appearances, Mr. Cordes wowed audiences as Sweeney Todd with Pendragon Theatre in Saranac Lake, NY, rejoining that company to great acclaim in the title role of Man of La Mancha. He and his wife, pianist Elizabeth Cordes, live in the Adirondacks in upstate New York, where they founded High Peaks Opera in 2009 and have directed spring musicals and fall plays since 2006 at Tupper Lake Middle/High School. Mr. Cordes also serves as Artistic General Director of the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts in Blue Mountain Lake, NY, where he has produced seven seasons of plays, outdoor Shakespeare, and musical productions for their touring Theatre Festival, including Best of Broadway, The Pirates of Penzance, Seussical: The Musical, Beguiled Again, and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Adriel Aviles is happy to be on the JPAS stage once more! Most recently, Aviles was The Monster in Young Frankenstein here at JPAS. Other shows include TWTC’s production of The Night of the Iguana, In the Heights, Holiday Inn, Shrek The Musical, and The Hunckback of Notre Dame at JPAS. Aviles would like to thank his family and friends for their constant support, as well as the team at JPAS for allowing him to continue being a part of their productions.

Ty Robbins (Simon Zealots) is hyped to return to JPAS this season in this rock out Webber hit! He holds a BFA in Acting from Oklahoma City University. Originally from New Orleans, Ty has moved back as a first-year graduate actor seeking his MFA at UNOs School of the Arts. He most recently was seen in the city in Assassins as Giuseppe Zangara. Ty is a vocalist at St. Paul’s Episcopal in Lakeview. He has found work both on the stage and in theme parks. Credits: Walt Disney Entertainment, Cedar Fair Entertainment, The View UpStairs (Patrick), Songs for a New World (Man 2), The School for Lies (Oronte), The Last Daughter (Doctor) Measure for Measure (Provost; u/s), Enron (Skilling; u/s). Adam Segrave (King Herod) is delighted to be returning to the JPAS stage! Previous New Orleans stage credits include Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, My Fair Lady, Ragtime, She Loves Me, Guys and Dolls, The Drowsy Chaperone, Hunchback of Notre Dame, White Christmas, and Holiday Inn. Thanks to Kenny, Maestro, Carlie, Nikki, Barbra, Ariel, and his family for making him smile and sing while doing the Charleston.
King Herod
Logan Breaux (James the Apostle) is excited to make his JPAS debut, especially with his wife Emily. He has most recently been seen as The Wizard in St. Luke’s The Wizard of Oz and Nostradamus as an alumnus feature in Jesuit Philelectic Society’s Something Rotten! He has also been part of the running crew for multiple shows at Rivertown Theaters. Many thanks go out to Emily, Kenny, Dennis, and the cast and crew for allowing him to be part of this experience in one of his favorite shows.
James the Apostle
Anthony D’Antonio is so excited to be making his JPAS debut in Jesus Christ Superstar. He has been performing since the age of four with his current focus of training in classical voice and piano. He has danced with the Delta Festival Ballet, Northeast Atlanta Ballet, and Jefferson Ballet Theatre in various ballets such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Cinderella, The Snow Queen, and Peter Pan. Some of his favorite past performances are as Roger in Grease, Gaston in Beauty and the Beast and Young Simba in The Lion King.
John the Apostle
Matthew Welch is honored to return to JPAS to play Peter in Jesus Christ Superstar. Most recently he has been seen in Young Frankenstein and The view Upstairs at Jefferson performing arts society, and Tulane Summer Lyric Theater in The Music Man and Oliver. He has played memorable Characters such as Lonny in Rock of Ages and Joseph Gillis in Sunset Blvd at the Cutting Edge Theater. He has been in numerous productions across the GNO. A member of Hollywood South look for him as "Jared" in Quiz Lady on Hulu.

Zane Syjansky, a senior at Loyola, is honored and grateful to be in his first production at JPAS. Zane wants to thank his family and friends that have always been in his unwavering support. Zane hopes to continue his pursuit in the theater and graduate from Loyola with his bachelors in May.

Jackson Scott is thrilled to be back on the JPAS stage as a member of Jesus Christ Superstar. Jackson has been a part of the Jefferson Parish Performing Arts Society community for years. Jackson is a level 3 junior at NOCCA studying musical theater. Jackson has most recently been seen in Young Frankenstein (JPAS) Newsies (Rivertown Theaters), Little Shop of Horrors (Nocca), In Our Dreams (Nocca), Raise Your Voice 5 (Rivertown Theaters). Jackson was also selected to serve on the new teen council at Le Petit Theatre. He would like to give a special thanks to his supportive family and the amazing creative team!

Nathan Long is an actor based in New Orleans. They are currently a junior with pursuing a B.A. in Musical Theatre at Loyola University New Orleans. They are excited to be making their debut at JPAS in Jesus Christ Superstar (Philip the Apostle). Past credits include Urinetown (Officer Barrel) and Head Over Heels (Ensemble) at Loyola University New Orleans. They are thankful for the opportunity and excited to perform this musical.

Tyger Hammons (Jude the Apostle) is in his Sophomore year at NOCCA for Musical Theater. Some of his previous credits include. With JPAS, Shrek the Musical Jr. (Donkey). He has also performed at Tulane Summer Lyric in Oliver the Musical (Dodger), in Matilda (Tommy), and CES in Addams Family (Gomez). John & Nancy (grandparents) were longtime denizens of New Orleans stages. Aunt Shannon was a Broadway dancer, dad J was an international dance and theater performer and Mom Maritza a choreographer and performer as well.
Jude the Apostle
Fresh off his stint as assistant director for “Gypsy” down in the parish, Danny is thrilled to tread the boards once again with JPAS. The past 18 months have been a whirlwind of diverse roles for Danny, spanning performances at JPAS, Rivertown Theaters, and The Company: a St. Bernard community theater. His repertoire encompasses a range of characters: from Peter in “Company” and Edsel Mackey in “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas,” to Caiaphas in “Jesus Christ Superstar,” R.F. Simpson in “Singin’ in the Rain,” and the dual roles in “Scrooge” as the Ghost of Christmas Present and Tom Jenkins. His performance in the ensemble of “Young Frankenstein” and the anticipation for his upcoming role in “Sister Act” at Rivertown underscore his presence in musical theater locally. Beyond the applause, Danny cherishes the support of his friends, family, and those at The Azienda. He's grateful to his parents and everyone who's been part of his journey, appreciating their support as he continues to pursue his passion as a song and dance man. @dannyboyrubio

Edward Emanuel Spots was born and raised in New Orleans. His journey started with Capoeira the Brazilian Martial arts, where he would perform in Congo Square as a kid. His dance training started at age 12, attending New Orleans Charter Middle School, New Orleans Dance Academy, The Schramel Conservatory of Dance, and The New Orleans Ballet Association. In high school, Edward received a scholarship to attend the Walnut Hill School for Performing Arts in Natick, Massachusetts where he continued his ballet training. During his time in New England, he also trained at The Washington School for Ballet in DC and The Jaffrey Ballet School in New York City in summer intensives.James, son of Alphaeus
JPAS debut! Luke most recently appeared in Assassins and A Christmas Story at Rivertown. Previous roles include Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Jack in Into the Woods. He earned an MFA in creative writing at UNO and owns a fermented food and drink business called Gingerbooch.

Ti Zampino is a 2023 graduate from the Loyola University College of Music and Media. He has been performing and working in theatre throughout his educational journey the last 8 years. This is his third show since graduation, as he was a member of the ensemble in Tulane Summer Lyric's production of Oliver! and made his JPAS debut with The View Upstairs. Jesus Christ Superstar is a show he’s loved his whole life, and he even closed out his senior showcase at Loyola with “Gethsemane”, so he’s very excited to perform in this ensemble and work with both new and old friends and colleagues.

Paul Bello, a native New Orleanian, joins Superstar after appearing in last season's In the Heights as Kevin Rosario. He was a 3 Little Pig in JPAS' Shrek the Musical, and Officer Klein in Arsenic and Old Lace, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest as Chief Bromden. Previous JPAS appearances include Caroline, or Change as Mr. Stopnick. He previously appeared as Snipes in Tarzan the Musical. He originated the roles of both Gabi and the Gris Gris Man in the original Nancy Gregory work, Jambalaya the Musical. He also has appeared in JPAS productions of Funny Girl, Mary Poppins, Sister Act, Rigoletto, Light in the Piazza, and My Fair Lady, in the roles of Gonzorgo in Babes in Toyland, Dick Deadeye in H.M.S. Pinafore, Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar, Pawnee Bill in Annie Get Your Gun, The Duke/Dr. Carrasco in Man of La Mancha, Yussel in Fiddler on the Roof, and as Reg Willoughby in The Full Monty. Paul has also appeared as Peron in Evita, Sgt. Carlino in Wait Until Dark, The Beadle in A Christmas Carol, Miles Gloriosus, in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, at Rivertown Repertory (Now Rivertown Theatres); as Big Julie, in Guys and Dolls, Sir Lionel in Camelot, the Grand Inquisitor in Candide, the Finance Man in Sunset Boulevard at Tulane Summer Lyric; Pedro in Man of La Mancha. Gabriella Santalla (Mary Mother of God/Ensemble) is a Cuban-American actress from New Jersey. She is a senior musical theatre major at Loyola University New Orleans and is making her JPAS debut! Some of her past credits include, Urinetown (Hope Cladwell), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Snout/Cobweb), The Mad Ones (Kelly U/S) and The Fantasticks (Luisa). Graciela Gonzales is a performer and musician from New Orleans, Louisiana. She is currently a Senior at NOCCA studying Musical Theatre and a dancer of nearly 16 years studying at MDTNO & Joffrey Ballet School as a SI Trainee. Graciela started as a JPAS Theatre Kid in 2018 and has competed and performed across the country in places like Orlando & NYC. She has been seen in several local and regional productions on-stage and off since, including Grease (Rizzo), Chicago (Choreographer), In The Heights (Ensemble), & Legally Blonde (Dana). She plans on studying music production and music industry studies in college. Special thanks to Momma, Dad, the bros, Dennis, Nikki, Kenny, Max, Carlie, & Taylor Swift for all the support, and for making her last NOLA show so special.

Melissa McKenzie (Soul Angel/Ensemble) is pleased to be performing again at JPAS. She was last seen on the Teatro Wego stage last Feb in SISTAS- The Musical. Melissa may be new to the New Orleans theater scene but she has been performing all over Southern California for over 25 years. Some of her favorite acting credits include- Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Dorothy Gale in Wizard of Oz, Sour Kangaroo in Seussical-The Musical, Floozy Tammy in Sweet Potato Queens, and Ariel in Footloose. Most recently, she had the honor of performing both Canadian and American national anthems at a Pelicans game last month. Melissa would like to thank her friends and family, far and wide, for their continued support all these years.

Virginia Borne is thrilled to be returning to the JPAS stage for Jesus Christ Superstar! She was last seen in the JPAS production of Holiday Inn. She has also been seen in theater performances of The Music Man, Oliver, and Elf as well as various performances around the city. A student of classical voice, Virginia received her degree from the University of New Orleans under the guidance of Megan Dearie. She would like to thank Kenny Beck and Max DoVale for having her in this magnificent production as well as Carlie for her excellent work as stage manager. She would like to give special thanks to Megan Dearie for helping find the high notes, to Brad, her husband, for always pushing her forward, and to her three talented sons: Seth, Nathan, and Brendan who are always ready for high fives and hugs.

Emily is elated to make her mainstage JPAS debut in one of her dream musicals. She has performed throughout the New Orleans area for more than 20 years, and it all started with JPAS summer camp! Favorite past shows include Beauty and the Beast (Belle), Into the Woods (Baker’s Wife), Hairspray (Amber Von Tussle), and Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown). Thank you to Kenny and Dennis for this opportunity, and a special shout out to her husband Logan for sharing this adventure together!

Arianna D'Antonio is a performer, dance instructor and journalist, who recently graduated from Loyola University New Orleans in Musical Theatre and Journalism. She has performed on the JPAS stage in West Side Story (2016), and her most recent roles include Sandy in Grease and Audrey in Descendants the Musical. Outside of the theater realm, Arianna also teaches K-pop dance classes and has performed with local K-Pop dance groups at events including the Tipitina's/Fan Expo After Party, K-Pop Minicon, and Deshimo's K-Pop Soiree. Last but not least, she hopes you enjoy the show!

Maggie Jaunet is a 23’ spring graduate from Loyola University of New Orleans where she earned a BA in Musical Theatre and Theatre Arts. Jaunet, known as “Miss Maggie” to her students, works as a dance teacher and choreographer at Metropolitan Dance Theatre and New Orleans Youth Theatre where she teaches ballet, tap, pointe, musical theatre, and more! Credits as a choreographer include Lion King Jr., The Addams Family Jr., and Peter and the Starcatcher (Mount Carmel Academy). As a performer, Jaunet’s favorite credits include Comedy of Errors (Dromio of Ephesus/fight captain), Head Over Heels (Ensemble), and Annie the Musical (Duffy). Emily Jones is a third year Loyola Music Industry student who is elated to return to the JPAS stage. A performer and music lover all her life, Emily has worked on and offstage in roles such as Ensemble in JPAS’s Cinderella, Sound Technician for Loyola’s 2023 production of Urinetown, Mrs. Paroo in The Music Man, and Stage Manager for the 2023 debut of Onepiece: A Splashy Musical Play. Emily is so grateful to be reunited with so many of the talented cast members in Jesus Christ Superstar. And, of course, she has to thank Dennis Assaf for being her favorite conductor.

Sasha Munchak is thrilled to perform with JPAS again. Recent credits include Young Frankenstein, Holiday Inn, Cinderella, and The Nutcracker (JPAS) and Singin’ in the Rain, A Funny Thing...Forum, Mary Poppins, and Cabaret (Rivertown), as well as various ballet productions with Jefferson Ballet Theatre. Originally from Scranton, PA, Sasha began her dance training with Linn McDonald, and also studied at the Rockette Summer Intensive, the American Dance Festival, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet's Teachers Workshop. Sasha works as the studio director at New Orleans Dance Academy and as a recruiter with Adeeta Corporate Staffing, and she is an MBA student at the University of New Orleans. She thanks Kenny, Max, Carlie, and the entire cast and crew for this wonderful experience.

Sara Caitlin Ritsch is a classically trained vocalist and actor from Fort Worth, Texas. From a young age, SC studied musical theater and toured nationally and internationally with Kids Who Care Performing Arts. She went on to study jazz voice in college and has since sung with the Symphony Chorus of New Orleans, in the orchestra pit at JPAC, and with various cover bands, jazz ensembles, songwriters, choirs and talent agencies. Her recent reentry to the musical theater world includes the accomplishments of playing both Horsey and Ashen in EF! The Musical in New England two years in a row, and being a part of the creation of “Rudy” in Young Frankenstein here at JPAC. The stage brings SC a grounded confidence and peace that is unmatched elsewhere, and she is grateful to have another moment in the spotlight.

Soprano Jinghan Zhang is excited to perform her second show with JPAS after Cinderella in 2022. She gained her master’s degree in Conservatorio Luisa D’Annunzio in Pescara, in the studio of Italian Soprano Sandra Buongrazio. Her opera and sacred music credits include Giulietta in I capuleti e i montecchi, Gilda in Rigoletto, Violetta in La Traviata, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Muzetta in La Boheme and soprano solo in Verdi’s Requiem. Ms. Zhang also won the second prize of the Artist International Music Competition bel-canto group in Hong Kong, China and the first prize winner of the 41st Bellini Vocal Competition (China region) in Beijing, China. She also organizes and performs in many charity concerts.
In addition, she sang in many important concerts in China, Italy, and the United States. Such credits include touring with the Poly Theaters’ Hollywood Concert Orchestra’s Oscar classical movie theme songs concert series for two years, Bellini and Verdi concerts in China and Italy, United Nations peace and charity concert in New York City, and the One World Opera, a combination of eastern and western music, in Carnegie Hall, NYC.
