MISERY Loves Company! Join us for the stage version of Stephen King’s novel! 

Based on the novel by quintessential horror writer Stephen King, Misery tells the story of novelist Paul Sheldon as he transitions from writing historical romances featuring heroine Misery Chastain to publishing literary fiction. Annie Wilkes, Sheldon's number one fan, rescues the author from the scene of a car accident. The former nurse takes care of him in her remote house but becomes irate when she discovers that the author has killed Misery off in his latest book. Annie keeps Sheldon prisoner while forcing him to write a book that brings Misery back to life.

The stage adaptation is by two-time Academy Award winner William Goldman, who penned the 1990 screen version of the 1987 novel.

Simone Daniel (Director) is a director, writer, costume designer based in Brooklyn, NY and works professionally in film and television.  An enthusiastic believer in Ensemble based work, Simone has supported and nurtured the life of and developed a large body of work for several young companies such as The Scranton Shakespeare Festival, The New Vintage Ensemble, Scranton Fringe Festival and more. She has developed two shows which have gone on to premiere at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and many more works which have toured domestically at Fringe Festivals across America.  Her passion is live theater but also works frequently across mediums with special focus on audio dramas.  This is her first time working with Jefferson Performing Arts Society. ERIC LINCOLN

ERIC LINCOLN is a New Orleans native who has performed for an uncertain number of decades in dozens of regional shows with JPAS, Rivertown, Le Petite, New Orleans Opera, and Tulane Summer Lyric in productions including Peter Pan, My Fair Lady, La Traviata, I Pagliacci, Company, Lost in Yonkers, Jesus Christ Superstar, Beauty and The Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and most recently as Lurch in The Addams Family at JPAS. He met his wife Reagan ten years ago when they were both cast in the lead roles for Laura at Shreveport Little Theater, and life has been far more entertaining ever since.

REAGAN LINCOLN was most recently seen on the JPAS stage as Countess Andrenyi in Murder on the Orient Express, Myra in Deathtrap and Annette in God of Carnage. She has been an educator for 18 years and currently works for the Louisiana Department of Education in Data Strategy and Governance. Before becoming an educator, you may have seen her as Chip and Dale at Disney World or onstage in the Gak Kitchen at Nickelodeon Studios. Some of her favorite directing credits include: The Music Man (EHC), It’s a Wonderful Life (EHC), and Godspell (EHC). Some of her favorite roles include Annette in God of Carnage (JPAS), Madame Thenardier in Les Misérables, Poopay in Communicating Doors (SLT),  Beverly in The Shadow Box (ULM), Jessie Mae in The Trip to Bountiful (SLT), and Laura in Laura (EHC) where she co-starred with her husband, Eric Lincoln.

DAVID L. HAYDEL JR. is excited to be back on the JPAS stage.  A New Orleans native, David is a graduate of Louisiana State University where he earned a degree in Sociology.  He has been seen previously on the JPAS stage in The Rocky Horror Show, Annie, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, God of Carnage, and most recently in Deathtrap.
